Cookie Policy
Last updated:
LaunchOS uses a few necessary cookies to keep you signed in and remember your choices. Analytics and attribution cookies are used only if you allow them.
Template notice. This document is a template written for the LaunchOS product. It must be reviewed and adapted by qualified legal counsel before LaunchOS is used in production.
1.What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between pages or visits, such as the fact that you're signed in. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in a similar way, and this policy covers them too. We call them all “cookies” here.
2.How LaunchOS uses cookies
We use two kinds of cookies on LaunchOS websites and in the app:
- Necessary cookies keep you signed in, keep the service secure and remember your cookie choice. They're always on, because LaunchOS can't work without them.
- Analytics and attribution cookies help measure which links and campaigns lead to visits and sales. They're set only after you agree.
We don't currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If we add them, we'll list them here and set them only with your consent under the “Marketing” option in your cookie preferences.
3.Necessary cookies
lo_at- Purpose
- Keeps you signed in: a short-lived access token (one hour) that LaunchOS renews automatically.
- Duration
- Until you sign out, or up to 30 days
lo_rt- Purpose
- Renews your sign-in securely. It changes every time it's used and stops working when you sign out.
- Duration
- Until you sign out, or up to 30 days
los_consent- Purpose
- Stores your cookie choice (analytics and marketing on or off) and the version of this policy you answered, so we don't ask again on every visit.
- Duration
- 180 days
los_anon- Purpose
- A random identifier that links your cookie choice to its consent record, so we can show what you agreed to. It isn't used for analytics or advertising.
- Duration
- 180 days
theme- Purpose
- Stored in your browser's local storage (not sent to our servers) to remember whether you chose the light or dark theme.
- Duration
- Until you clear it
Necessary cookies are first-party cookies set by LaunchOS. Under the GDPR and ePrivacy rules they don't need consent because they're strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for.
4.Analytics and attribution cookies
These cookies come with LaunchOS's attribution features: tracked links and the tracking snippet our customers can add to their own pages. They let a customer see which link, campaign or affiliate led to a visit, lead or purchase. They are set only if you've chosen to allow analytics and attribution cookies, and not when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
Visitor identifier
- Purpose
- A random identifier that recognizes the same browser across visits, so a later lead or purchase can be connected to the link that brought you.
- Duration
- Up to 180 days
Click identifier
- Purpose
- A random identifier created when you open a tracked link and passed to the destination page, so the purchase can be attributed to that click.
- Duration
- Up to 180 days
If you haven't agreed, a tracked link still takes you to its destination and the click is counted, but without a visitor identifier, and we never store the raw IP address of a link click. When the tracking snippet runs on a customer's own website, that customer is responsible for asking for consent on their site.
5.Third-party cookies
Some pages include content or checkout flows from other providers, who may set their own cookies:
- Video and live events: embedded players from Vimeo, Mux or YouTube and join links from Zoom in course lessons and live events.
- Payments: Stripe Checkout and the billing portal run on Stripe's own pages and use cookies for security and fraud prevention.
Those cookies are governed by each provider's own cookie and privacy policies.
6.How to change your preferences
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time. here or use the “Cookie preferences” button at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent stops new analytics cookies from being set; it doesn't affect anything done before you withdrew it.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers let you send a Global Privacy Control signal. If you block necessary cookies, you won't be able to sign in.
7.Changes to this policy
The date at the top shows the current version. Your saved choice records which version you answered, and when we change this policy in a way that affects your choice, the cookie banner asks you again.
